Context : Energy Situation in Bangladesh

 

l       Around 100 Million people have no access to grid electricity

l       Only 3% people have  access to  gas through  pipelines 

l       Lack of energy is one of the major reasons for rural backwardness 

l       There is potential of 4 million biogas plants in the country

l       Climate in Bangladesh is suitable for biogas production

          Follow SNV/IDCOL model for all the plants up to 4.8 m3 size

          Follow GS model for all the plants above 4.8 m3 size

          Provide credit support in all the cases as per rule where necessary
