Bangladesh Power Development Board developed prepayment metering system to tackle the system loss due to pilferage/theft of electricity from distribution sources has been indentified, which involves households to medium/large scale enterprises. System loss virtually uncontrollable unless pushing users to buy prepayment metering system. Normal electricity purchase & billing mechanism is difficult to understand for common consumer. The electricity bills are generated by reading these meters monthly or quarterly and payments are made after receiving these bills. The normal methods give no information on how electricity is used / what is the usage pattern. The prepayment metering system provides information to understand the usage pattern. The meter informs you how much energy is being used, by showing the being used, by showing the usage pattern in Taka value. All you have to do is purchase electricity in advance from the Prepayment Vending Centre. Prepayment metering allows you control on the way you use electricity by enabling you to monitor the usage inters of money spent.
